Come help us build FRED THE SNAKE!
Thursday, April 24
6:30 -7:30 pm
That's right, we're building a snake! Actually, it's a rock snake - a PAINTED ROCK SNAKE! The geocachers will be working on a landscaped corner in Warner Robins to create a community beautification project. It connects us with our hometown, adds a point of pride, and involves anyone and everyone!
I've painted Fred's head (yep, he's a rock!), and several Middle Georgia Cachers have already painted some rocks to start building his body. Come to the event as we listen to ROCK music (definitely the Rolling STONES), admire some cool painted ROCKS, and leave no STONE unturned! There may even be some POP-ROCKS to knock your socks off! And of course, there will be plenty of ROCKS, so don't take it for GRANITE!
I will have rocks, paint, and supplies at our CITO for you to paint your own - and you are welcome and invited to paint rocks ahead of our event and bring them to help Fred grow!
Rakes and gloves for the pine straw will be helpful. We will be deciding the lay-out for Fred and installing the information sign in the planting bed, inviting the community to help Fred grow by adding more rocks. Bring a folding chair for visiting when the work is done, as our chatting gets even BOULDER! (And don't forget the bug spray, as always!)
Fred the Snake is here to encourage community participation and engagement, show community spirit, and make our caching world a more colorful and creative place! There's no doubt about it: Geocaching in Middle Georgia ROCKS!
