Opened in 1888, the Hotel del Coronado has hosted presidents, royalty, and Hollywood elites—but its most famous guest may be the one who never left: Kate Morgan.

In November 1892, Kate checked into Room 302 (now Room 3327), alone. She told hotel staff she was waiting for her brother, a doctor. Days passed, but he never arrived. Hotel staff noted Kate appeared ill and melancholy. On the fifth day of her stay, Kate was found dead on a staircase leading to the beach, a bullet wound to her head and a small pistol nearby.
The death was ruled a suicide, but strange inconsistencies sparked rumors—some believed Kate was murdered, others claimed she was hiding from something (or someone). No matter the truth, one thing's certain: that wasn’t the end of her story.
Since then, strange happenings have been reported across the hotel: lights flicker with no cause, TVs and phones turn on by themselves, cold drafts appear in still rooms, the scent of Kate’s favorite perfume drifts through empty hallway, and guests in Room 3327 have reported the most unexplained activity of all. The legend of Kate Morgan lives on, her spirit seemingly trapped between the ocean breeze and the hotel’s grand halls.
