The current station was opened in 1886 by the District Railway to help boost their woeful financial status. Originally called Heston & Hounslow the station's opening caused the original Hounslow Town Station to be replaced, being moved from where the Bus station is today to the current Hounslow East .
The current station was most recently renovated in 2006 albeit at platform level there are signs of decay and rusting of the iron beams.
This cache is just opposite the station entrance, south of the bridge. You will need tweezers and to be careful as the area is busy most hours. Tweezers recommended.
