If you recognize the saying, will know Marvin the Martian… This was my son’s favorite character… and a character he was.. spouting his technobabble to anyone who would listen.. His other favorite sayings were “Isn’t that lovely?’ and “This makes me very angry, very angry indeed”.. and the rest of “Where’s the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom!”
As he was flying over, he spied a large blue circle, and when he slowed to investigate, he saw a landing strip… However, he didn’t realize it was so steep.. and he landed, I guess, crashed would be a better word.. he ended up stuck in a precarious position… He did realize it was a good spot to watch for Earthlings and the big pond of water.. as coming in for a landing, he realized the blue circle was water… So, hope, Earthlings will be kind to him..
He came on the scene in 1948 in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, Haredevil Hare.. called the Commander of Flying Saucer X-2… and , also, known as “Antwerp”.. He, usually, appeared as a villain, from Mars on his ship called Martian Maggot… coming to Earth 🌎 to destroy it, as it obstructed his view of Venus..
Marvin has been quite active in keeping Earthlings on their toes with his antics...But, guess NASA was impressed as he appears on the Spirit rover on Mars and on the mission launch patch..
