Welcome to Fleming Falls Preserve, a relatively new park located in Richland County between Ashland and Mansfield. There are several miles of trails in this former camp for kids. The trails meander up and down hills, through trees, by streams and waterfalls. After parking, head down the hill to the trailhead and take a left after crossing the stream to access FFP #1 - 6 in order as you walk around the outside of the former camp (approximately 1.5 miles). All six caches in this series are hanging from trees, so no need to root through snow or leaves, should be accessible year round. You are looking for a bison tube hanging from a tree anywhere between 3 and 9 feet off the ground, near the trail. Permision granted by current park superintendent.
If you approach from the proper angle, all are easy to spot... but easy to spot is in the eye of the beholder. MUCH easier for the hider to spot than the seeker! Have fun!
TRAIL: After crossing the stream, take the trail on the right by the stream (South Fork Loop Trail). This part of the hike, you will see lots of proof that this was once a camp for kids... cabins, lodge, swingset, etc...
