Nestled in the heart of West Hatch, Farmers Footsteps is a scenic circular series of 14 caches that will take you through open fields, winding paths, wooded corners and rural charm.
The full route is approximately 4 miles and includes a variety of hide stiles, some traditional, some sneaky, and a few that might test your geo-senses. Expect a mix of terrain underfoot and a handful of stiles, gates and animal crossings along the way.
You’ll likely encounter some friendly four-legged locals en-route. Please be mindful of livestock and ensure dogs are kept on leads while crossing fields.
Take your time, enjoy the views, and please replace each cache exactly as found to keep the series fun for others. This walk has been set with our care, we hope it brings a smile (and a few “ah-ha!” moments) as you go.
What to bring:
- Sturdy boots – the fields can get muddy, especially after rain
- Tweezers – a few of the logs are small and fiddly
- Long Trousers – some of the paths are overgrown in the summer.
