Head down to the Upper Canoe Access point at Scioto Grove Metro Park. Check out this awesome access point to the Scioto River. You can walk along the river, or if you have a kayak at home, come back and float down stream for a while here. Use a crayfish mimic bait, and try to catch a smallmouth bass in the stream!
Be aware that this area can flood and is often muddy.
Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to KBLAST for helping us look after this cache!
Rusty Crayfish are large and aggressive, and easily outcompete for food and space. They are a common bait for fishermen, and escaped populations have spread all over the United States. They are native to Central and Western Ohio, but have since spread all over the state and surrounding areas.
