Na terenie miasta stanęło dziewięć tablic z opisem poszczególnych zdarzeń, które miały miejsce w trakcie robotniczego buntu ponad pół wieku temu.

Na tablicach można przeczytać, co stało się w danym miejscu w grudniu 1970 roku.

- Jedna znajduje się przed Stocznią Szczecińską. Na tablicy jest napisane, że to wszystko właśnie tam się zaczęło - wymienia Radosław Ptaszyński z Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego, jeden z twórców szlaku. - Kolejna na ul. Dubois, gdzie doszło do dużego starcia z milicjantami, którzy próbowali zatrzymać idący pochód. Kolejne tablice tworzące szlak można znaleźć m.in. na Cmentarzu Centralnym czy przed urzędem miejskim. - Na tablicach są dokumentalne zdjęcia miejsc związanych z wydarzeniami sprzed 45 lat. Tych samych, które dziś mijamy i często nawet nie wiemy, że tu działa się historia. Są także krótkie informacje w trzech językach oraz specjalne kody odsyłające na stronę internetową szlaku - dodaje Agata Rokicka, jedna z inicjatorek przedsięwzięcia.

17 grudnia 1970 roku, w proteście przeciwko podwyżce cen żywności, na ulice Szczecina wyszli pracownicy stoczni oraz innych zakładów, a także zwykli mieszkańcy. Demonstranci podpalili gmach Komitetu Wojewódzkiego PZPR. Do manifestujących milicjanci i wojskowi otworzyli ogień. Zginęło 16 osób.
