Over 140 years ago, in 1878, thirteen people felt the calling to begin a church in the Mountain Home area. By 1883 the first church, about the size of a one-room schoolhouse, was built. It was then called Zion Evangelical Church.
Over the years, congregation growth, mergers, and fires (accidental and deliberate) eventually resulted in the church you see today. The present church building was dedicated in 1986.
The church is surrounded by nature in an idyllic setting featuring a grove of Douglas firs and views of four mountain peaks. The vibrant stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes were designed to include Oregon plants and trees.
The area may be busy during services, which start Sundays at 11:00. Please be respectful and visit only during daylight hours.
