The Lake Brunner Scenic Trail has been under construction since 2021 and at this point has reached the 12km mark of the 15km trail. It runs along the western shore of the lake and will link the township of Moana to Mitchells at the southern end of the lake. Originally scheduled to be completed over 10 years it has been progressed much faster than this. While it has been constructed as a grade 2 cycle trail, it is also a great trail for walkers and runners of all levels of fitness.
The trail runs through pristine native bush with numerous access points to the lake edge which previously were only accessible by boat or a slog along the shore if the lake level wasn't too high.
