Ruh-roh, Raggy… there’s a geocache nearby!
Welcome to Spooky Island… well, sort of! You’re standing at one of the real-life filming locations from the 2002 live-action Scooby-Doo movie – and not just any scene, but the fan-favourite “hot boxing” moment where Shaggy and Scooby are cookin’ up some serious snacks in the back of the Mystery Machine… just before getting their mysterious invitation to the island.
While the cache container isn’t themed, the location itself is a total Scooby snack for movie buffs and Scooby fans alike. Look around – the tropical vibes and iconic surroundings are straight out of the movie’s early scenes!
Here’s a fun fact for your logbook: Scooby-Doo was voiced by Aussie legend Neil Fanning, who not only gave Scoob his lovable voice in the film, but also worked for years as a stunt performer at Movie World right here on the Gold Coast. Talk about a rags-to-riches-to-ruff! story.
The 2002 film brought our favourite mystery-solving gang to life with Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Linda Cardellini (Velma), and Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) – who, fun fact, went on to voice Shaggy in the cartoons for over a decade thanks to his unforgettable performance here.
Log your find, share your favourite Scooby-Doo moment, and don’t forget to say “Jinkies!” if you spot anything suspicious nearby…
