This geocache is placed near the South Piney Creek hiking trail, which is a gorgeous hike almost anytime of year! Watch out for Poison Ivy, and pay attention and you will see many ladyslippers at some times of year, which are flowers that look just like women’s white slippers. Hummingbirds also frequent the area.
Drive to Story, then follow signs to the Fish Hatchery. When you are almost there, veer left and follow the dirt road to the parking lot for South Piney Creek/Thorne Rider Youth Camp. From here, you will need to hike about ¾ mile. Then, on your right are many different places to rock climb—if you have proper equipment only please! Due to the steep canyon walls, the GPS coordinates you get may not be quite accurate, but the description of the cache should be a large clue to what you’re looking for. Inside is a container, log, and very very short pencil. Please be sure to leave things the way you found them, including a propped rock to hide the cache!
