Geocache Description:

PLEASE READ!!

THE EVENT IS ONLY AT THE BOAT LAUNCH, if you want to kayak AFTER the event, bring your kayak or canoe. This is a 45 minute event at the boat launch but if you want to kayak after I would love for you to tag along. I'm giving a 5.0 terrain for anyone who joins after! This is my first event and I sure did pick a crazy event to host! We will start this event by meeting at a public boat launch. We will have some geochat and food (please bring your own lunch or snack) Unfortunately, i cannot provide food at this time due to budget. After the event I will be visiting 3 kayak/canoe based caches. All 3 have 5.0 Terrian ratings. I have had my eye on these for quite some time but I never wanted to go alone due to the possible reptilian friends, so please feel free to join me after then event for kayaking to these caches. After the event and geochat at the boat launch, I, and anyone who wants to join will set off to Southern Bend "GC4ZGRH". Next we will set off to Guardians of Whiskey Ditch "GC614K3" which is a mystery cache. After grabbing this I we will head down Whiskey Ditch to the "Whiskey Ditch" cache "GC614QP". From the launch, the first cache is between 0.3 - 0.4 miles. From there, the next cache is 3.0 miles by water. Then from there it's about 0.5 miles to the last cache. Then I, and anyone who joined will head back to the launch, about 2.2 miles from the last launch. I will not have any spare kayaks or canoes so bring your own, if you don't have one, I'm sure you can rent one for the day. The caches are most likely premium but anyone who is a basic member can also tag along. You just won't be able to log online. Please come prepared or almost prepared if you plan to go with me after the event. Please be mindful that there are alligators in this water but it is unlikely they will bother anyone. Just a fair warning. The 3 caches are LAND BASED, so you might get dirty. For those who have already got these caches, feel free to tag along and come again. We also will be practing CITO principles to keep the area clean. Some of these have DNF's or no recent logs so there is a slight possibility they may not be there. I reached out to both cache owners. One replied that they should still be there, the other did not reply. The Whiksey Ditch owner did reply. I hope to see you all there and enjoy my first, but crazy, event. Please try and make it, I don't want to kayak these waters alone. AT THE TIME OF PLANING, the tides and weather looks good, but since I'm planning so far in advance, we might have to reschedule, hopefully not though!

I RECOMMEND BRINGING:

Sunscreen, Bug Spray, A towel, snacks, and WATER. A small fan (battery or hand powered) would also be nice!

A kayak, canoe, or similar self propelled watercraft. No MOTOR watercrafts please.
Proper Saftey Equipment

You MUST bring:

A lunch and water.

A life jacket
