Specimen Hill in the wider region of Bendigo feature prominent mullock heaps, which are mounds of leftover soil and rock from mining operations. These heaps are a physical reminder of the historical gold mining activity in the area.
I used to walk around this area quite often with my son when we lived nearby. There are several ways you can get to GZ depending on how much time you have to explore the area.
Please be mindful of snakes in the warmer months and wear good footwear - the ground can be a bit rough in places, and keep an eye on the kids near the diggings.
You are looking for a micro cache, just large enough to contain a log. You will need to bring a pen.
