Welcome to The Mushroom Rock! 🪨🍄
Â
Tucked away in the woods near my favorite camping spot, this cache is hidden on Crown land, so feel free to explore respectfully and responsibly. The main landmark is a large, mossy boulder that stands out among the trees—nature’s own monument in the middle of the forest.
Â
The cache itself is a small yellow recycled pill bottle, carefully hidden somewhere around the base of the rock. It’s camouflaged just enough to blend in, but with a sharp eye and a bit of patience, you’ll find it. The container holds a logbook and has room for small trade items—don’t forget to bring your own pen!
Â
In the surrounding underbrush, especially during damp weather, you might spot a variety of wild mushrooms. You’re welcome to pick them if you wish, but exercise extreme caution—many wild mushrooms are poisonous and can be dangerous if consumed. If you’re not 100% sure of what you’re picking, it’s best to simply admire them in their natural habitat.
Â
The cache is just a short walk off a nearby trail. Be careful as the forest floor can be uneven and slippery, especially around the rock. As always, please practice Leave No Trace and re-hide the cache exactly as you found it to keep the fun going for the next adventurer.
Â
Take your time, enjoy the peace and beauty of this wild little spot, and happy caching!
