Airport-area caches are popular with those with some spare time before a flight, so I thought I'd look to place a few more.
In recent years, a lot of the farmland around the airport has been developed. The International Antarctic Centre was one of the first developments. It is best known for its visitor centre, but also features offices and warehouse space for the NZ, US and Italian Antarctic programs. The first stage opened in 1990, and the visitor centre opened in 1992. A popular attraction is a ride in a Hägglund all-terrain vehicle. The Hägglund track is just across the road from GZ, so if you are lucky you might see one in action.
There is free on-road parking on this part of Peter Leeming Rd, but it is well used.
The cache is a pill container in a block of wood tucked behind the brace to the left of the gate. You might have to brush some pine needles away when grabbing the outer container.
