June SOLSTICE 2025 @ Sasso Marcoffe

Our trip from Guimarães (Portugal) to Sasso Marconi (Italy) has several objectives.

I created this event to take advantage of the celebration of the Summer Solestice that takes place, in the northern hemisphere, on about June 20th. At Sasso Marconi, in june 21st, at exactly 04:42 am.

It will be an opportunity to get together and share experiences in Geocaching; or even, conversations about legends and myths about this phenomenon throughout time.

We will meet, at the coordinates, at 9:30 am. Here, we can have a coffee or a cappuccino. Essential energy to, who knows, go for a walk around the area and, if the mood aligns, we can find some caches in the area!, The Event ends at 10:00 am.

Il solstizio di giugno segna l'inizio dell'estate nell'emisfero settentrionale ed è stato celebrato in vari modi nel corso dei secoli. In Italia, sebbene non esista una celebrazione nazionale ufficiale direttamente legata al solstizio come nei paesi nordici, esistono tradizioni regionali e feste popolari di origine pagana e cristiana che coincidono con questo periodo dell'anno.

Sebbene cada pochi giorni dopo il solstizio, la festa di San Giovanni Battista è profondamente legata alle antiche celebrazioni del solstizio d'estate. È una delle feste più importanti di questo periodo e fonde tradizioni pagane e cristiane.

Tuttavia, alcuni miti e tradizioni si perdono nel tempo, come questo: - In alcune regioni, come l'Emilia-Romagna, esistono tradizioni di incantesimi d'amore e riti divinatori. Un esempio classico è quello di lasciare un albume d'uovo in un bicchiere d'acqua la notte di San Giovanni: si crede che la forma che assumerà il giorno dopo rivelerà la professione del futuro marito.

La mia sfida è quella di ricercare una storia, un mito o una leggenda legata al solstizio d'estate e condividerla con i presenti all'evento. Ti senti all'altezza?
