Another Chaplin Nature Center geocache, you will trek a little farther on the trails for this one. I find a walking stick comes in handy along this trail.
Known as a Harbinger of Spring, the feathered version of this subject provides entertaining backyard antics as he/she searches for a meal of earthworms in the morning. This whimsical little guy, while sturdy, needs to be handled with care. Enjoy all the bird calls (I encourage you to use a bird call identifier app while you walk the trails) and don't lose your nerve if you are startled by startled deer. You can't help noticing all the trees. Nice and shady on a warm day, but they will probably play havoc with the coordinates. Keep on the trail and keep observing. You're sure to earn a smiley for your efforts. Besides the log, this cache might give up some SWAG...depends on your talents for exploration.
