A bit of history on Nekoma.  The 1970 census recorded a population of 84, in 1980 - 102, and in 2020 - 31.  But in 1975 the population was estimated around 350.  This was due to the building of the Missile Site Radar (MSR) just northeast of town.  Construction of the MSR began in 1970 and the Stanley R Mickelson Missile Site Radar Complex became operational on 1 April 1975.  Full operational capability came on 1 Oct 1975.  The site was home to 30 Spartan and 70 Sprint missiles.  The 360 degree radar came from the pyramid facility that still stands today.  On 2 Oct 1975 Congress voted to decommission the site.  It was ultimately deactivated in April 1976.  The pyramid is currently owned by Bitzero Blockchain Inc.  The bulk of the remainder of the property is owned by the Hutterite Colony of Forbes, ND.  Do enjoy you time in Nekoma.
