I have loved libraries since I was a child. I would walk in looking for one book and in the process become Curiouser and Curiouser and leave with many books. It was a little like the rabbit hole that Alice fell into.... Libraries are my personal rabbit holes full of adventure and curiousity.
I visited my local library, the Camden Free Public Library, which was located in Dudley Grange Park, as much as possible. As I entered middle school years, it was easier to go to my school library as I wasn’t allowed to walk alone to the Camden Library. Then it burned down in 1980 and I cried…... here is the Dudley Grange Library from the 1920’s - it was part of a 20 acre donated estate and beautiful inside and out.

Everywhere I lived, I obtained a library card and now, thankfully I have two cards, one for the county I live in and one for the county where I work. I even had a Philadelphia Public Library card when I worked in Philly! Here is the Parkway Central Library that I would visit.

This library has a special edition of ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. Find stage 1 before going into the library-it will tell you where to look. The library does not have a REFERENCE section so REFERENCE books are shelved with the Non-fiction books. Make sure to find the clues for the three digit lock before retrieving cache container - in the words of Brailler CD "Read the cache page!"
I have visited many libraries to find caches and I am the steward of a Little Free Library in Warren, NJ. When I was asked to put a cache at the New Providence Library, I was very excited and even hoped for library card number THREE but they are joining with the Somerset County library system next year anyway so I guess my library card count will remain at two.
There are more than SEVENteen caches hidden in libraries and Little Free Libraries that I have found and I’m sure there are more than another SEVEN to go…..Now that you know the lock code, go into the rabbit hole and find it!
Please keep in mind the operating hours of the New Providence Library and check the website for 2025 Holidays. info@newprovlibrary.org
