No more pencils no more books, No more teacher's dirty looks yeah!
Out for summer, Out till fall, We might not come back at all
School's out forever, School's out for summer, School's out with fever, School's out completely!

Dowlingville opened as a Provisional School in 1880 and remained as such until 1882 when it changed to a public school then again in 1910 it was classified again as a Provisional School but its final status in 1949 was that of a class VII school.
A contract was put forward in 1884 for the erection of a new school building which could accommodate 40 pupils and a teacher's residence for a total cost of 575 pounds, to be completed by May 4th 1885. A total of 40 children attended the school in its first year with an average attendance of 20. But by 1948 the attendance was closer to 6 and it is no wonder that the school was closed on November 19th 1949.
The building is now a private residence please respect their property and do not enter.
