If you've ever lifted a flagpole skirt you know how noisy that can be and how the pole just amplifies it 100 times.
When I find a skirt fliter, and there are many, I think back to the first one I found and how many times I'd DNF'd one by my house before I realized this simple way to hide a geocache.
