Named in honor of baseball legend Hank Aaron, this trail provides a continuous connection between American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Lake Michigan lakefront. The Hank Aaron State Trail also links to famous Milwaukee landmarks such as the Ward Theatre on the grounds of the Historic Soldiers Home, the Wisconsin State Fair Park and the Pettit National Ice Center.
The trail head is located at Valley Passage, located behind the Menomonee Valley branch of the Urban Ecology Center. At its three locations (Menomonee Valley, Riverside Park, and Washington Park), the UEC provides year-round educational programs for kids, families and adults of all ages and natural spaces to bring our city’s children and families into nature. As a result, our urban parks are safer to visit, our kids are acquiring the science skills they need to succeed, and adults keep on learning about how our changing world around us works.
