Myrornas barnhem

På Vallareleden 24 ligger Myrornas barnhem nummer 6, ritat av Arvid Bjerke (1880-1952). Man kan se släktskapet med hans villor.
Barnhemmet byggdes 1910 och hette då "Lisen Levissons hem för späda barn". Man kunde här ta emot runt fyrtio barn under två års ålder, i vissa fall tillsammans med behövande mammor.
Denna välbevarade institutionsbyggnad i en stor trädgård har stensockel, rustik lockpanel och snidad entré. Idag används byggnaden som förskola.

On Vallareleden 24 you'll find Myrorna's orphanage number 6, designed by Arvid Bjerke (1880-1952). One can see the kinship with his villas.
The orphanage was built in 1910 and was at the time called "Lisen Levisson's home for young children". They could take on about forty children under the age of two years, in some cases accompanied by mothers.
This well preserved building in a great garden has a stone foundation, rustic panelling and a carved entrance. Today, the building is used as a kindergarten.

Observera att det finns aktiva förskolor på båda sidor av cachen. Beträd inte förskolornas områden och gör ert bästa för att inte störa verksamheten. Geocachen är publicerad med tillstånd från både Vallareledens förskola och Knivsmedsgatans förskola, men om personalen upplever att besökare till geocachen stör så kan det bli så att cachen får arkiveras.
Please note that there are active preschools on both sides of the cache. Do not enter the preschool areas and do your best to avoid disturbing them. The geocache is published with permission from both of them, Vallareledens förskola and Knivsmedsgatans förskola, but if the staff feels that visitors to the geocache are disturbing, the cache may have to be archived.
