Above the creek, but not too high,
A silent shell watches the water dry.
Cradled close where branches meet,
Held in a grasp both firm and discreet.
No nest, no burrow, no leafy bed—
But a timbered crook is where it’s led.
Along the winding course of Franklin Creek, where the water flows (sometimes) and the trees shade it nicely, a still and silent guardian rests. It doesn’t swim, yet it knows the creek well. It doesn't climb, yet it's somehow above the forest floor.
FTF gets a trophy and two little surprises (but if you don't like them feel free to take something else).
Notes: The road leading to this cache wasn't bad but there are some spots of washout. Signal is iffy if you plan on using your phone. In the summer you may want to bring water shoes just incase the creek is flowing (currently dry). It can be spotted from the creek if you walk the creekbed.
The cache is tucked safely in a natural spot—no digging, prying, or force required. Tread lightly and leave the forest as you found it. When placing the cache back make sure to apply light pressure just enough to secure it into it’s hiding place.
