Karen's Kache can be found here OUTSIDE of the Plattville Lutheran Church. When you arrive in the vicinity of the cache, feel free to park anywhere off the road, and it should not be too difficult to find. It is the third cache we have hid in Karen's honor, and a super special one to us, as this is where her and her sisters grew up, attending this church. WE OBTAINED PERMISSION FROM THE CHURCH COUNCIL TO HIDE THIS CACHE. It is pretty quiet here, but watch out for muggles just in case. We hope you enjoy it!
We are placing this cache in honor of our sister, a wife and mother, and our friend, Karen Lynn (Tweet) Steppe. Karen last lived in Iowa, but grew up here in the Minooka area, attending church, sunday school, and summer vacation bible school here. If the church is open, you will find her picture in the confirmation class archives. And even some of her Tweet ancestors were buried in the cemetary here as well. Karen and her family also loved geocaching, which is why we thought on this third Heavenly Birthday of hers on 7/16/25, we would place this cache in one of the places that meant a lot to her, where she first formed her faith in Jesus, and where she really wanted her two boys to strengthen their faith as well. We look forward to the fun and excitement this TREASURE CACHE will bring to others who come to the area, as well as having it be a way to leave a piece of Karen here forever too.

You will find some toys put here by Karen's boys, as well as her nieces, nephews, sisters, and her parents. Some are also breast cancer awareness trinkets and treasures in this cache to start, and we hope to keep adding some of those. Please feel free to TAKE SOMETHING (or two), even if you did not bring anything, and/or leave anything you want when you make your trades, it does not have to be breast cancer related. She loved regular caches with treasures and we want to share the fun! Also feel free to share any stories or pictures with us about finding the cache, as well as those stories that you have to share about your special loved ones who have been taken from us due to breast cancer, or any cancer for that matter.
We hope you enjoy this beautiful church up close as well as the cache!
