Clunton is a small village here in Shropshire with many 'ancient roots'!
Not only is there the famous hill fort 'Bury Ditches' nearby.... There is also Clunton Coppice - 23.6 hectares (58 acres) of oak coppice woodland, which used to be abundant in this part of Shropshire. Notable species here are the Sessile Oak trees & Oak Ferns. John Osborne (1929–1994) playwright, who wrote 'Look back in Anger' also lived at 'The Hurst' in Clunton, where he died. & in 1994 when the village public house, The Crown, was threatened with closure, a group of locals clubbed together and bought it, rather than lose it altogether. They still own it today - the pub is co-owned by 30 people, mostly locals.
This cache can be done as a dash, or take some time & enjoy the area, there are some great walks from here! If you need to park up, there is parking at the nearby village hall (parking at the pub is for patrons only)
We have hidden a small magnetic film pot for you to find, just big enough for some tiny treasure or possibly a trackable. Some serious stealth is required here due to the cache's proximity to the pub & also, this is a busy road (Please be careful with geo-kids) Please bring your own pen or pencil.
