Wilson Creek Falls
Wilson Creek Geocaching Adventure Video
The "Wilson Creek Geo-Adventure" will involve approximately 100 kms of driving.
35 kms is on a paved highway. The other 65 kms is on the Wilson Creek FSR which is described as a good, 2 wheel drive, gravel road, and while that is mostly true the section from Wilson Lake East along Wilson Lake to Wilson Lake West has become really rough and there is going to be some pinstripping. Having said that if you don't want to damage your vehicle you can turn around at East Wilson Lake and then drive up the Wilson Lake Road on the other side of Box Lake.
In order to locate the final cache: "Wilson Creek Geo-Adventure Final" you must visit ten caches. Each cache will have a clue written on the lid as well as in the logbook. Write the clue down.
This Adventure will take you to several pristine mountain lakes and spectacular waterfalls with plenty of opportunities for camping, hiking, and fishing. To get the most enjoyment out of this caching series we strongly recommend bringing your camping gear. Also don't forget your camera, bug spray, and fishing rods. As always, remember to be bear aware.
Wilson Creek Falls is described as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in British Columbia. The day we hid the cache it was truly amazing watching the spray blowing upward at the edge of the falls. Well worth the 1.1 kilometer hike to the falls. We hid the cache well back from the mist and spray but be sure to go just a little farther down the trail and take in this awesome sight. The trail has a steep section coming back out from the falls so don't forget your clue.
Reception is awful so be sure to read the hint and check out the Spoiler Picture while still in service.
The turn off for the falls is approximately11.5km from the start of Wilson Creek FSR East. The right turn is signed for Wilson Creek Falls/Goat Mountain Provincial Park. Turn right and drive up this dirt road for approximately 700 meters to the parking area and signed trail for Wilson Creek Falls.
As this is a stand-a-lone cache, you are welcome to just log this cache if you don't have time to take in the entire Adventure.
