The origin of Tokyo Keizai University was Okura Commercial School, which was founded in 1900 by Kihachiro Okura at the location of the current Hotel Okura. In 1946, the school building was burned down in an air raid and moved to its current location, and the University was established three years later.
Tokei no Mori, located on the southeast side of the campus, is open to the public from 9:00 to 18:00. Shinjiro Pond was named after Shinjiro Kitazawa, the fourth president of the university. From here, go up the stairs to access the cache on campus. There is a statue of Kihachiro near the cache. The name of the hall "進一層(Shin-Issou)" is the university's founding philosophy, which means moving forward without flinching even in the face of difficulties.
東京経済大学の前身は、大倉財閥の大倉喜八郎が1900年に現在のホテルオークラの隣に創設した大倉商業学校です。1946年に空襲で校舎が焼けて現在の場所に移転し、その3年後に東京経済大学が発足しました。
キャンパスの南東側にある東経の森は、9時から18時まで一般開放されています。森にある新次郎池は、第4代学長の北澤新次郎にちなんで命名されました。ここから階段を上ってキャンパス内にあるキャッシュにアクセスしてください。キャッシュの近くには喜八郎の銅像と建学の理念「進一層（困難に直面してもひるまず前に進む）」を冠したホールがあります。
