Imagine a place where every forgotten sign from Austin’s past comes to party—like a retirement home for neon legends.
The Sign Bar started life as a gas station, then got a makeover: over 75 iconic Austin signs from shuttered businesses like Maria’s Taco Xpress, The Frisco, and Spider House are strung together like the city’s neon memoir. Walking in feels like being warmly greeted by the ghosts of businesses past. "Oh look, it's that old pizza place I swore I’d visit before it closed!"
Join me, the FTFGuy, in a nostalgic homage to old-time Austin. I set the meet & greet end time to coincide with the onset of sunset when the signs appear most impressive in all their neon glory. Hang around till dark if you like. I'll be having a second beer.
