This cache is located in the garden in front of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) U.S. headquarters in Akron, PA. It is placed by permission of the Board of Directors.
The gardens surrounding this MCC campus currently are 25% full of native Pennsylvania plants. They are tended by Katrina Lefever, the gardener, who's goal is to increase the number of native plants and decrease the number of invasive plants. Did you know that Rhododendron is not "native", but Mountain Laurel is? Can you tell the difference? She also prefers to use natural ground cover which I might call "weeds" instead of mulch.
This could be a “park and grab”. There are a few small toys inside the cache container for trading. When walking, please stay on the paths. Enjoy your visit.
