I've been fasinated by NFC tags and decided to make a Geocache with them! Using old hotel keycards and storing new data can be used in so many different applications.
This cache requires you to have a phone that is able to read NFC tags (Near-field communication). Most newer smartphones have NFC readers built in. This includes most Android devices released after 2015 and all iPhones from the iPhone 7 (2016) onward. If you’re unsure, check your phone’s settings for “NFC” or “Tap to Pay.” Most modern smartphones can read NFC tags without an app. On older devices, you may need to enable NFC in your settings or use a free NFC reader app.
Find the NFC tag at the posted coordinates. Please let me know if the NFC tag isn't working!
Please try using your phone's native NFC reader without an app first!
