Please note the parking waypoint!
Welcome to the 35th cache in the series of Ambarvale Glen Alpine And Surrounds. A series of simple caches in the parks and reserves in the area. The cache is small so please BYOP and no room for swaps or trackables. Although the hide is relatively distant from the playing fields, stealth is still important, especially on weekends and some days through the week as the nearby high school also makes use of the fields.
Although many of the parks and reserves are named after books and characters from Charles Dickens and Shakespear, its not always the case. This reserve was named after Thomas Rose (1772-1836) who bought Mt Gilead Farm in 1818. His farm covered parts of Rosemeadow and the nearby Gilead estate. He was not only a farmer, but also a baker and owned a pub! He also built a mill on his property.
The suburb of Rosemeadow was catalogued in 1976.
