Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
Geocachers host Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?
Come and help us do some litter pick-up, and keep a watch out for Wombles in this secret hidaway!
Please bring alomg some equipment that might be useful:
Gloves - to minimise contact with hazardous materials.
Litter sticks/grabbers – to avoid direct contact with litter and avoid repetitive bending.
Suitable footwear – to reduce the risk of slips and falls.
Appropriate outdoor clothing – to protect hands, legs and feet and to avoid exposure of bare skin.
Bags for litter will be provided.
Dangerous Materials:
The following materials may be encountered during litter picks and should be treated with extreme caution:
Broken glass – Do not remove.
Drug related litter/hypodermics – Do not remove
Suspect materials and fly tipping – Do not remove any items that may be dangerous such as unknown liquids in containers, batteries, asbestos, building materials or fly tips. If there is any doubt about an item of litter, please do not touch it
