Geocache Description:

05 September 2025, 16:30 - 17:30

Makadi Cleanup

Where? Starting at the Eastern Beach Entrance

When? On 5th September 2025 from 16:30 pm to 17:30 pm.

Who? Every geocacher who wants to protect the planet and especially the beautiful Red Sea and its animals.

What/How? Litter pick up will be the focus of this cleanup but there will also be time to log travelbugs, swap stories and all that fun stuff.

We will bring garbage bags and collect trash - especially plastic to save the sea animals. One group will collect trash in the Red Sea, so please bring a diving mask and snorkel if you have. Flippers can also be a good idea.

The logbook will be available at the beginning of the event for 5 minutes and carried by one of us afterwards. Hope to see you there!

Info about CITOs:

Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 240,000 people have volunteered at 11,000 CITO events. Twice per year, geocachers can earn virtual souvernirs by hosting and attending events during CITO weeks. This

Attend CITO Events- At CITO events, geocachers and community groups work together to improve parks and other outdoor environments. They clean up litter, plant trees, remove invasive species, build trails, and more. To attend an event, other than this one, view the CITO calendar or find CITO events near you.

Remember: A CITO can happen on every geocaching adventure! Pick up trash that you see on the trail. Clean up the area around each geocache. These small acts make a huge difference.
