Giff 2025 Matinee

Please join me and my awesome co-hosts celebrating 11 years of GIFF and 25 years of Geocaching at our 8th matinee version of the Geocaching International Film Festival. Enjoy a viewing of the geocaching film finalists that were chosen for their creativity, production quality, and contribution to the global geocaching community. After signing the logbook and grabbing some popcorn, we will watch the films and take a group photo. We will have ballots for an informal, fun voting on the films and a raffle as well.

What is a GIFF 2025?
GIFF 2025 is your chance to watch the entire reel of the finalist films from the 2025 Geocaching International Film Festival. Throughout the dates of November 6-16, geocachers will host geocaching events at which these films will be shown publicly for the first time.

Where is this event?
St. Matthew United Church of Christ
1420 S. Gables Blvd.
Wheaton, IL
The easiest route is to take Gables Rd. south from Roosevelt Rd. until you come to a dead end. Turn left and you will see the church. There is plenty of parking and the entrance is on the west side of the building. There is a circle turnaround on the north side of the building for the north side handicap entrance.

When is it?
Saturday, November 8th, 2025
2:00-4:00 p.m.

The event will start at 2PM. The films will play from 2:30PM to 3:30PM. We will vote on our favorite film and take a group picture and then hold the raffle and clean up.

How long is the GIFF 2025 film reel?
The entire film reel is approximately one hour long.

Are these films family-friendly?
Absolutely. Kids are welcome.

Are there geocaches to find nearby?
Yes! pawprintlogic1 and badcla and others have placed a lot of great caches in the area and on the Prairie Path behind the church that are well maintained and a pleasant walk.

Will I earn a souvenir for attending a GIFF Event?
Groundspeak announced that a souvenir will be available for anyone who attends a GIFF event on GIFF Weekend.

Will there be voting? Yes!  We will take an informal vote for our event's personal choice after watching the films. The official voting site is here:
