What: With the help of volunteers, many of which are cachers, we have been restoring the hedgerows around the meadows. The traditional managment of the hedegrows through hedgelaying encourages new growth in the trees, providing a dense and protective corridor for birds and small mammals. We will be trimming the hedges today.
Where: We will meet at 09:30 by the main entrance to the Reserve (see reference point) or after that find us working in the Meadows, around the hedgerows.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible, and if you wish to bring your own tools (loppers, saw) please do so. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.
Parking: There is some on-street parking opposite Hucclecote Meadows Reserve on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby). Please take note of any parking restrictions when choosing where to park.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink/snack for breaktime. See you there🙂
