Geocache Description:

BACKGROUND:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of the most iconic movies of all time, and one of my personal favourites. It is a spoof of the Arthurian Legend created by the famous comedy group Monty Python, and it contains some of the funniest scenes and dialogue of any movie I have seen to date. This year (2025) marks the 50th anniversary of the movie's release, but the jokes are not showing any sign of getting old!

I have placed this cache to give people a reason to experience one of the greatest comedies of all time, and to hopefully share some of the joy and laughter that I have gotten (and continue to get) watching the film myself.

Although I would personally recommend watching the full movie, beginning to end, just for the laughs, you do not actually need to watch the whole thing in order to solve the puzzle. You can just use any free video site to watch the individual clips required for the puzzle. But, however you choose to watch it, I have no doubt you will have lots of fun experiencing the comedic genius that is The Holy Grail!

And if you are fortunate enough to have already watched the film, good on you! You should be able to solve some parts of the puzzle quite easily (although you may need a refresher).

I should also mention that some parts of the film may not be suitable for younger children. Even though I have intentionally chosen scenes that are slightly milder in nature for the puzzle, I still wouldn't recommend showing most of the film to kids.

YOUR QUEST:

The cache is NOT hidden at the posted coordinates.

To get the coordinates for the cache, you will need to answer the following five questions...

"Eight questions!"

...eight questions, about a number of scenes in the film. Good luck!

(I have tried my best to avoid major spoilers in the questions)

1. Opening Scene:

According to the knight in the castle, a five-ounce bird could not carry a how many pound coconut? =A

2. Bring Out Your Dead:

How many family members have the Robinsons lost "today"? =B

3. The Black Knight:

How many limbs does the Black Knight lose in his fight against King Arthur? =C

4. The French Castle:

How many French knights are seen retrieving the wooden rabbit? =D

5. The Tale of Sir Robin:

Sir Robin meets a man with how many heads? =E

6. The Knights of Ni:

How many letters long is the word that the Knights of Ni "cannot hear"? =F

7. The Killer Rabbit:

According to the Book of Armaments, which number is "right out"? =G

8. The Bridge of Death:

How many knights successfully cross the Bridge of Death (including Lancelot)? =H

THE CACHE:

Lots of room for swaps and trackables.

The cache is not more than a swallow's flight away!

...

Oh, that's an unladen swallow's flight, obviously. I mean, it's more than two laden swallow's flights away... four, really, if they had a coconut on a line between them. I mean, if the birds were...

"GET ON WITH IT!!!"

Congratulations 2y'stassies on FTF!
