This cache is the first of several intended caches to be placed along or close to the Dandenong Ranges Tourist Track. The track stretches from Clematis (near Emerald) through to Sassafras, a distance of 17 km.s. It is an easy and enjoyable walk, although parts of it get wet after rain. (For more details, you can find information at http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au).
The cache is hidden on a minor track off the main Dandenong Ranges Tourist Track, quite close to its start (at Telopea Steps). It is a small 600 ml camouflaged clip top box.
UPDATE: As of late 2018, access via the Telopea Steps is not available. It was discovered that the steps are actually on private land, and will remain closed while a title search is in progress looking for any remaining relation of the original owner. I have added trailhead co-ordinates for a closer starting point. From the trailhead, head towards GZ. Just after crossing the creek, turn right (to the left of the big tree) and try to keep to the remnants of a goat track.
Due to the poor satellite coverage on the day of placement, please treat the published co-ordinates with a degree of laxity. It is hidden in an obvious position, so just hunt around the area for a typical hiding spot and you should find it easily.
