Located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Claytor Nature Center contains freshwater streams, woodlands, wetlands, grasslands, rare plants, wildlife, and a portion of the Big Otter River.
It also boasts a hiking trail system, a small-group campground, and an amphitheater. The Virginia Claytor Memorial Gardens, created in memory of the late Mrs. Claytor, adorn the property with formal flower, herb, and shrub plantings.

This location is currently open to the public Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. Hours are subject to change seasonally, as well as for special events or holidays.
