Buckner Park is one of Fort Wayne's newer parks, although the city bought 150 acres from the Buckner Family in 1969. The park sat unused until the city bought 48 acres along Bass Road from the Flaugh Family in 2002, bringing the park's size to 197.9 acres.
Today, the park touts a hardwood forest, two open pavilions, paved and gravel walking trails, a splash pad and a playground.
