While on a 'scenic adventure' in the area, we decided to have a little explore, as all adventurers do, and ran into this fantastic honeycomb cave, which we dubbed 'Hercules Cave', a bit of a running joke amongst the HAVOCers, poking a bit of fun too :) Here's some context...
You can probably get a 2WD to the parking, but it is not recommended; a 4WD is your best bet. Park at the parking waypoint and follow Lynch's Trail until the trailhead waypoint, which is where you need to head bush. Head straight up to the ridge and then follow it along towards the reference point, which is where you need to take the ridge to the right.
Once you follow the ridge for a little while, there will be a few tricky descents and ascents. A handline may be helpful at one or two of them, but it is not required. Make your way along the rocky ridge, staying as high as you can for the most part, and then you'll be pretty close to GZ. You need to walk about 40m past GZ on the right side of the rock face, then head through at the 'Arch of Hadrian' and backtrack through the cave itself.
The cache is a small black sistema, sitting on a ledge in the roof at the far end of the cave. Sit down at the high point and look outwards, the cache should be about 50cm above your eyeline.
It is a relatively remote area, make sure you bring enough water, snacks, a snake bite bandage and a PLB would not go astray. Mobile coverage is effectively non existent, so save the cache offline as well. Be careful around edges and do not push your limits, it's a long way to the nearest hospital.
