NOTE: I'm going to archive this at the end of the Month. Find one of the 52 memorials for US Submarines in World War II.
During World War II, 52 submarines were lost to sea. The national Submarine Veterans of World War II group has assigned each state to memorialize one submarine, with New York and California each getting two.
Your task is the following:
1) Find a submarine memorial for one of the 52 submarines lost in WW II.
2) Take a photo of the memorial and your GPS. Additional photos are always welcome.
3) Included the coordinates, city/state of the memorial
4) Limited to one find per cacher! And once a memorial has been found, it can't be used again.
5) If you can't post your photos when you create your log, please create a Post a Note and when you have your photos ready, revise it to a Found It.
My information states:
Art Randall, district commander of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc., St. Louis, Mo., said all but three states -- Ohio, Wisconsin and North Dakota -- have established their memorials. So, unless these states have created theirs very recently, there are only really 49 possible to find.
The above coordinates are bogus.
