These caches are being placed to appeal to a wide variety of caching levels and abilities.

Welcome to Watt’s Pond, a hidden gem tucked into the heart of Paris, Ontario. Long before it became a peaceful green space, this land was part of the Lee family farm dating back to the 1920s. In those days, cows grazed in nearby pastures, and the pond served a very practical purpose: blocks of ice were cut and stored in an ice house for use throughout the year. If you look closely, the stone foundation of that old ice house can still be found as a reminder of the past.
Over time, Watt’s Pond has become a favourite spot for walkers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers. A simple trail once carved by the Lee family along the water’s edge has grown into a larger vision—today, plans for the Watt’s Pond Trail promise accessible paths, benches, and interpretive signs celebrating both nature and history. While development in the surrounding area continues to grow, Watt’s Pond remains a sanctuary where you can pause and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
*Please note* the terrain level for this cache is based on spring/winter water levels, where wading may be required to access this cache. At the time of placement in early September, the water level had dropped several feet but the area was still mucky. Rubber boots may be required. Attributes are based on the worst case scenario for this location.
