This cache is sort of a dedication cache/sort of how many caches have I really placed or events that I've held. I have placed and held over 440 caches/events at this point of my caching career. That's a big number along. I've placed most of my caches in the Pittsburgh area, though I've had 2 ECs published down on the Outer Banks and my 3.0 virtual reward is out in Wall, SD. I have also held events in a number of states that I have traveled, including most recently, 3 events out in Washington State. I love that events, when held along my travels, allow me to meet cachers from those areas that I am traveling through.
At the time of setting up this cache in the Settler's Cabin, there is one person has found over 300 of my cachers or attended the events that I have hosted. This equates to them having found around 70% of all my caches. That one individual is Egroeg. Egroeg, I'm blown away from the fact that you have found that many of my caches. I'm equally blown away that you were the first person from the Pittsburgh area to have found my virtual cache out in Wall, South Dakota a couple of years ago. I hope that you enjoy finding this cache. Trust me, you won't be searching for a micro in the woods. You won't be pulling up to a guard rail or lifting a lamp post skirt. I still get a good chuckle when I go back and read the log that you posted on one of my other caches in Settlers, when you went and got the First to Find on Rufus Love "Purple". I am asking that you please give Egoreg the opportunity to be First to Find on this cache!
Okay, I've given some info on this cache. Let's give you some more. You will be on a hike in Settler's Cabin. It's best to park at the recommended parking, otherwise, you could be in for quite the adventure and a longer then neccessary hike. You will be seeking a large container in the park, that's right not a micro in the wood. Just how big of a container are we talking about? It's a 40 MM metal ammo can! The cache will have plenty of goodies inside, even for the youngest in heart! You will be close to, what I think, is an even better waterfall then the one The Waterfall Trail takes you too. Yes, this one is small in comparison, but where this one is located is very pretty, year round. The trail will most likely be muddy, even in the driest of periods, so be prepared for mud! I have seen muggles on this trail, just about every time that I have hiked it. The total hike will be round 2 miles, so come prepared for that. You will have cell service throughout your hike. A final reminder that Settler's Cabin is open from 8 AM to sunset, every day of the year.
