A fairly easy walk along even terrained trails inside the Pigeon River Conservaton area. Very little bushwhacking required.
To celebrate the new year, Austin went for a polar bear dip in the Pigeon River.
It was so cold that he left behind his Nibbly Bits. Please help find Austin’s Nibbly Bits cache.
Take the roadway marked -Unimproved Road- (not as bad as it sounds) to the parking area at these coordinates:
N 44° 08.730
W 078° 40.792
From here we took the Forest Trail that will lead you to the edge of a meadow where you will see a comfortable rest area (see pic #1). A few more steps beyond this and you will see another rest stop in the distance (as shown in pic #2) which the trail through the center of the meadow eventually loops to. From this second rest stop, you will be able to see an entrance leading into the forest, heading towards the boardwalk.
The walk in to the cache from the parking coordinates is approx 1.5 km.
Cache is a small sized ammo box and contains the usual cache contents. Have a groovy time!!!
