At the peak of Catamount Woods, travelers can nest for a moment and take in the view. Some say the locals flock here for rest, others whisper it’s where cachers come to spread their wings.
Whether you’re an early bird or just winging it, this Geocache stop is sure to leave you tweeting with joy. Don’t let this one fly the coop before you sign the log!
This geocache is placed right off of the summit in the Catamount Outdoor Family Center forest, a large 393 acres of woods and over 20 miles of trails. The total hike to this cache is about 1 mile/35 minutes. This cache is just off the trail, some bushwacking might be needed. Once you have got to the cache signed and traded swag (and maybe took a collectable coin), please put the cache back as you found it.
Thing you might need to know before going:
- If you are not walking/hiking you need to pay a fee ($10) for bike, snowshoes, etc.
- Sometimes trails are closed because of mud season or other problems. So check their website before going.
- Before you go into the woods, log that you are hiking, biking, etc, by scanning the QR code at the Family Center
- The Family Center does not allow dogs
