There was a time when Langervalde Forest was a popular site for rallies and meetings during the 1905 Revolution, and even the poet Rainis is said to have spoken here. After World War II, Langervalde Forest gradually became overgrown and lost its significance. However, the popularity of this once much-favored leisure spot for Jelgava’s residents is slowly being revived today, with gradual improvements allowing not only active recreation but also exploration of the natural values of this urban forest.
How to find the cache? Leave your car in the designated parking lot and head to the cache coordinates—there you’ll find a metal plate with a 3-symbol code (for example, 2K5). This code will serve as the password for THIS GOOGLE DOCS SURVEY. After completing the survey, the final coordinates of the cache will be revealed.
The survey is short and concise and won’t take more than 1 minute. Its purpose is to gather geocachers’ opinions about the landscape and facilities of this park. Participation is anonymous, and all data will be processed solely for research purposes (Impact on the environment and management challenges in forest areas important for recreation in Latvia, Latvian Science Council agreement No. lzp-2023/1-0137).
