Orenda Park in Boswell Borough is where Merchants Coal Company operated a Tipple and viaduct to transport coal across the stream for sorting and loading into trail cars. The coal was a very high quality and was given the name Orenda coal, orenda means magic power in indian. The mine was constructed in 1901-2 and was dismantled in 1939. many of the original mine buildings and miner's homes are still in use today.
