This is the latest set of new toilets in Dunedin that I know of. Work started on the 28th of March with the shifting of two trees to another part of the reserve to make way for the faciilities. The DCC chose this site for new toilets because it felt that there was a lack of toilets in the north area and people at sporting events at the reserve would benefit. When heading noth, it is the last toilet stop before north the Waitati Loos (GC8GZNE). Parking can be a problem though during the working day. An archaeological assessment was undertaken before construction and it showed a low chance of encountering anything significant.
There are two units available, one is wheelchair accessible. There is also a nappy change table. overall it is very similar to all the newer facilities that the city has put in. On the occassions that I visited they were clean and tidy with no evidence of mal odour.
This is a T1 cache, so all is accessible to someone in a wheelchair. The cache should also be within easy reach of someone in a wheelchair so able bodied people, please remember that when returning the cache after signing that you do not put it out of reach of those in a wheelchair.
There are two waypoints in total to visit to get the required information to make the find. It is best to walk between waypoints as parking can be problematic during the working day. unless you make some stuffup, you should be able to comfortably complete this within an hour. Just be aware that you will be required to cross State Highway 1 north bound. There are plenty of traffic light controlled crossing points to use. Along side this highway, on the right side (heading North) there is also a sepaeate bicycle lane. Just use normal common sense when dealing with traffic, espeacially if you have children with you.
